廣州市中醫醫院始建於二十世紀三十年代，為當時的警察醫院，解放後命名為廣州市第三人民醫院，l960年正式命名為廣州市中醫醫院。1995年通過三級甲等中醫醫院評審，l996年被評定為普通高等醫學院校教學醫院，本院及下屬的五羊門診部、同德門診部均是廣州市城鎮職工醫療保險定點醫療機構。
該院是市屬唯壹的壹所服務功能齊全、設備先進的綜合性中醫醫院。醫院建築面積24,930平方米，開放病床422張，全院現有職工700多人，擁有壹批省、市名中醫和高級職稱專業技術人才，其中中級以上職稱衛技人員占32.24%；有兼職正、副教授28名，任全國、省級醫學專業委員會副主任委員以上的有20多人，有博士、碩士19人，承擔有省市級各類科研課題幾十項，技術力量雄厚。
醫院擁有全身螺旋CT機、800毫安多功能X光機、大型C臂1250毫安X光血管造影機、美國SLT接觸式激光治療儀、A超、B超、彩超血液透析機、系列纖維內窺鏡、體外震波碎石機、自動生化分析儀等壹批大型先進診療設備。
設有住院部和門診部，科室設置齊全。本院急診科是廣州市120急救中心首批參加單位，實行急診24小時開放。住院部設有l6個臨床科室，門診設內、外、婦、兒、骨傷、針灸、耳鼻喉、眼科、口腔、脈管炎、痔瘡、皮膚科等科，並開設心腦血管病、頭痛、咳喘、肝炎、糖尿病、腫瘤、乳腺病、前列腺增生、子宮肌瘤、男性不育、女性不孕、關節痛、皮膚性病等中醫專科門診60多個。其中神經內科、骨科、腫瘤科、心血管科、腎科、急診科、潰瘍性結腸炎專病、被列為廣州市1357工程重點建設單位。同時，潰瘍性結腸炎還被列為廣東省重點中醫專病。
開展了中醫血療治療腦血管疾病、冠心壹號等系列中藥治療缺血性心臟病、中醫綜合治脊療法治療脊柱相關性疾病、激光治療前列腺增生癥、中藥介入治療腫瘤、中藥內服外治結合治療脈管炎、腸炎清治療慢性潰瘍性結腸炎、敷痔散治療嵌頓痔、膠原酶註射溶解術治療椎間盤突出癥、椎間盤鏡下髓核摘除術、中藥薰蒸治療多種疼痛性疾病、中醫藥治療兒童性早熟、乳核消結湯離子導入治療乳腺增生癥、中醫藥綜合療法治療腎臟疾病等特色治療項目。
該院除了具有中醫專科特色的診療外，外科技術力量亦十分雄厚，且設備先進。能開展各種復雜的腹部手術、泌尿外科手術、顱腦外科手術、骨科手術、婦科手術。並能運用內窺鏡進行各種微創外科手術，該手術創傷小、恢復快，深受病者的歡迎。

Brief Introduction
Guangzhou Hospital of Traditional ChineseMedicine (TCM) is located on Liwan district . It neighbours with the beautiful Shamian Island andWhite Swan Bay . It is very convenient to be reached by subway or bus.Guangzhou Hospital of TCM was established in the 1930s with the name of “ Police Hospital”. Then it was called “Guangzhou Hospital of Public Security” after liberation. It was named “Guangzhou Municipal No.3 Hospital ”by Guangzhou Municipal Government in1956 and renamed as “Guangzhou Hospital of TCM” in 1960. Since 2004, Guangzhou Hospital of TCM has been an Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM formally (not directly governed by the university).The hospital is a comprehensive First Class of the third Grade Hospital integrated with medicine, scientific research, education, prevention and preservation of health including 2 Branch Out-patient Department, Tongde and Wuyang clinic. Guangzhou Research Institute of TCM is inside. In many years, Our motto Is “Benevolence and Good faith, Great morality and rescuing people ”. We adhere to the policy of management “Giving stress on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Combining with Western therapy”. And we also pursue the “Patient-centred” philosophy.
